You may have heard about the devastation caused by the recent Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica.
Monteagle Primary School need your help.
Buff Bay Seventh-day Adventist Academy School has been severely affected by the storm, which brought widespread destruction across the island — destroying homes, damaging infrastructure, and leaving many communities struggling to recover.
Schools and families have been deeply impacted, and the need for financial support is urgent. We are launching this appeal to raise funds to help the school replace its roof and restore a safe learning environment for its students.
This appeal is especially close to our hearts, as one of our own staff members has grandchildren who attend Buff Bay SDA Academy. Hearing first-hand about the damage and disruption has made the
situation very personal to our school community. The storm caused extensive damage to the school’s buildings, leaving classrooms exposed and learning interrupted.
Buff Bay SDA Academy is a vital part of its community, providing education, hope, and stability for its children — but now, they urgently need our support to rebuild.
Why supporting another school matters: When schools come together across communities and countries, we teach our students the power of empathy, kindness, and global responsibility. By helping Buff Bay SDA Academy, we are not just repairing a roof — we are building connections, hope, and shared understanding that extend far beyond our classrooms.
Once our fundraising goal is met, we plan to twin with Buff Bay SDA Academy, creating a lasting partnership of friendship, cultural exchange, and shared learning between our two schools.
