Bring Sebastian Back Home Healthy

Update: Sebastian was moved from ICU to NCU, but is still not in good condition. He has not eaten or drank water. He has IV fluids and a urinary catheter placed. Doctors still can’t diagnose him. They know he has a kidney infection, as his WBC and kidney levels are both high. They however don’t know what has caused the vestibular problems. Sebastian wants to stand but is unable to and his legs are very shaky. When he sees his dad, he does try to army crawl towards him. Living in Chicago, the vet costs are much higher than ones in the suburbs. Sebastian is currently unable to transfer to a different vet because of his condition and how weak he is. My dear friend Tommy has a lovely Great Dane named Sebastian. Over the past few days, his health has been declining, and vet bills are adding up. Once a lively dog, he became unresponsive overnight and was sent to the emergency vet this morning. Tommy had to enlist the help of his neighbor to carry 100+ pound limp Sebastian to his car as he was not moving at all. Sebastian is in the ICU right now in critical condition. Tommy has already spent $4000. The overnight cost is around $2500, not including medicine, IVs, diagnostic tests, etc. Sebastian may need an MRI, which is $7000. And if he has to stay another overnight... you see where this is headed. Currently, what we know is that he has a bladder infection and is experiencing an unknown cause of neurological symptoms, including shaking and eye movements. He may have sepsis, he may have had a stroke; right now, a lot is unknown, and we are awaiting a response to antibiotics to see how to proceed. When we visited him today, he was responsive and trying to get up, but he was not able to. Any amount is greatly appreciated. We just want our snuggly, smelly farting, derpy, playful boy back home with his brother Chappie ❤️
