Black Mothers Matter is a not for profit organisation started by 3 friends who had the pleasure of sharing maternity leave together.

As Black women they realised they face some terrifying statistics in the perinatal period.

Black women in the UK have four times the risk of dying in pregnancy or up to six weeks postpartum compared with white women.

Black women are twice as likely to have a stillborn baby than their white counterparts.

We support and celebrate Black and Mixed Black women and birthers because we deserve and demand better.

We look forward to the day when organisations like ours are no longer needed but we need more support - your support - to make that happen.
