Liisa's Recovery Fund

Please help to lighten the financial burden on Liisa Leskowski and her family.

Liisa suffered a severe stroke in January resulting in left sided paralysis and causing an acquired brain injury that has impacted her in many ways.  After several weeks at Thunder Bay Regional she is now undergoing rehabilitation at St Joseph's Hospital, including physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy to regain movement, independence and cognitive functioning.  She is making good progress but there is still a long road ahead.  In addition to the physical effects of the stroke, the brain injury has made it unlikely that Liisa will be able to return to work.  Liisa's daughter, Jessica, has returned from Australia and put her medical residency on hold to be with her mom as her main support through her recovery.  This has added to the considerable financial strain on the family.  We are asking for your financial support to help cover the immediate expenses incurred by this sudden and devastating event and to help  Liisa regain as much of her independence as possible.

Liisa has exemplified giving and advocating for others throughout her entire life.  She has contributed greatly to our community through her leadership, ingenuity and caring compassion.  Please help us to give back to Liisa and her family in this time of need.
