Bambi’s Spinal Correction Surgery
Donazione protetta
Bambi, our vibrant, energetic, and fun-filled 7-year-old pug, is a deeply loved member of our family. She was living life to the fullest until we noticed some changes in her behavior. Her nightly zoomies and ritual bed dances had stopped, and a few months earlier, she seemed reluctant to jump off the couch. We thought nothing of it and bought dog stairs to help her get up and down, assuming all was well.
However, a few months later, we noticed that her walk seemed stiff and unusual. Then, one morning, her legs slipped out from under her, and we knew something was seriously wrong. We rushed her to the vet, where various treatments were tried over a week, but there was no improvement. It became clear that Bambi had a neurological issue affecting her back legs.
We took her to SASH for an MRI and CT scan, initially suspecting IVDD. Instead, the scans revealed a deformity in her thoracic spine, a kink pressing on her spinal cord and disrupting the signals to her legs.
Now, we are preparing for spinal stabilization surgery to correct this issue. The estimated cost is $15,000, which includes $2,500 for custom 3D pin guides designed specifically for Bambi.
Any support you can offer for our beloved Bambi will mean the world to us. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing her story. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
