In January 2026, our U14 Badger family lost someone incredibly special. Lily-May lost her mum. Matthew lost his wife. And our club lost one of its biggest, brightest supporters Hayley.
If you ever stood near the touchline when the U14 girls were playing, you’ll remember her. Hayley wasn’t just watching the game, she was living every second of it. She was the loudest cheer when the girls broke through a tackle and the first to shout encouragement when heads dropped. Home or away, sunshine or sideways wind, Hayley was there. And you always knew exactly where she was because you could hear her before you saw her.
She didn’t just support Lily-May, she supported all the girls. She celebrated their tries like they were her own daughters.
To wrap that love around Matthew and Lily-May, the U14 Badger girls have decided to take on a Wolf Run to raise funds for the family. They want to give them the time to sit with memories without the added weight of financial worry.
When the rest of the club heard what the girls were doing, it didn’t take long before others stepped forward. The U12 girls and the U14 boys joined in too. That says everything about Hayley.
This is what rugby family means. Muddy boots, loud cheers, shared highs and devastating lows.
Matthew, Lily-May, and all your family, we are holding you close. We are running for you. And we are here, always.
