I am organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear loved one, Anna LaBounty, for her & her husband, Corey Heier.

Early in the morning on Wednesday, September 10, Anna found Corey unresponsive & having a seizure. He was taken by ambulance to Tacoma General Hospital, where, due to his condition & severe confusion/agitation, doctors made the decision to place him in a medically induced coma on a ventilator in the ICU.

Corey has remained in the intensive care unit under a medically induced coma on a ventilator since then. Doctors have attempted wake-up trials, but so far he has not been able to come out of sedation calmly or fully follow commands & keep his oxygen level up, so each time he has been placed back under sedation to be back into a medically induced coma. The positive news is that his vitals are stable & tests such as CT, EEG & MRI have come back normal, suggesting the seizure was not due to a brain abnormality but likely other factors that can be addressed.

During this time, both Anna & Corey are out of work on unpaid leave. Bills are piling up, including their mortgage, daily expenses, care for their pets, & now the extremely high medical costs of ICU care.

We hope & pray Corey will be weaned off the ventilator soon. In the meantime, any donation to help Anna & Corey with medical expenses & living costs would mean so much.
