A Self-Less Couple Affected by Fire Devastation

I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my dearest friends, Lilah Richardson and Nick Skinner. A fire destroyed their entire apartment on December 24, 2022, while they were away visiting family for the holiday. Not only were all their earthly belongings in that apartment but also their two beloved cats, Jasper and Suki, who perished in the fire. This has destroyed the couple and impacted them on an emotional level so deeply that it also grips the hearts of those close to them. Anyone who knows this couple knows how loved and cared for their cats were and how much they meant to them. For people without children, our pets are our world, and this loss is so unbelievably earth-shattering. Currently, they are staying with close friends until they can figure out what to do and take the next steps toward healing.

Not only was everything they own destroyed, but also all the equipment for their own businesses each of which they both started recently. Nick started a company, Aviate Aerial Imaging, using drone technology to provide data-driven imagery and inspection using RGB, thermal, multispectral, and LiDAR sensors for use in construction, agriculture, and more.

Lilah is on her way to graduating from Akasha Yoga Academy to become an instructor in the art of yoga. She believes strongly in her art and it has truly become her passion to spread the healing love and joy of yoga not just as an exercise but as a lifestyle.

Lilah and Nick have conquered so many trials and tribulations to be together. They are both so humble and selfless. If this devastation happened to any of their friends, I know they would move mountains for them and help in any way they could. I can’t think of a better way to help than by starting a GoFundMe for them to help with the expenses of rebuilding their lives and to help support them to become the phoenix that I know they will become. I love this couple and believe strongly that they will emerge from the ashes stronger than ever.
