Sustainable Plantain Farm

Donation protected
We have a new 20 acre farm in Nkraka, Kumasi, to grow Plantain, which is like a banana plant. Plantain is a staple of the West African diet as flour, chips or as a raw fruit.
We are trying to make our new farm totally self sustainable by planting as many plantain plants as we can. The farm can have a total of 18,000 plants, but all we could plant so far is 2300.
We have 12 workers and their families to support as well as our two managers.
Many farms in Ghana are owned by women and the two managers are women in their 30's. We own the land, so it is secure.
When the farm is totally planted, it will support the 12 workers, their families and the two mamagers. It will generate enough income to be self sustainable within about 12 months.
Our first crop will be in about 5 months. Our plan is to plant a third of the farm at a time so that we will have a crop each month and not all at once. This means that we will have  the best chance at both the market as well as with the weather conditions.
Our workers conditions is that we give them acommodation, food and wages for their work. They are very loyal to our managers and we regard them with reverence for their work. They have worked for us for some time.
The funding we are seeking will buy the rest of the plants and fertiliser,  acommodation and food for our workers and families as well as buying 8 machines for spraying the plants.
When the whole farm is planted, the income generated by each harvest will pay  to prepare for the next crop, food and wages for the workers, and some small profit. The profit will be used to help educate the children of the workers.
