Fundraiser for Bryanthe Pornillos and family
Bryanthe Pornillos is a beautiful Year 1 student of our school, MacKillop Catholic College Warnervale.
Recently, Bryanthe suffered a serious medical episode whilst at school. Unbeknown to all, Bryanthe had been living with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a tangle of blood vessels in the brain that diverts vital blood supply away from the brain. Brain AVM’s occur in less than 1% of the population. For whatever reason the AVM ruptured in the brain causing her to suffer life threatening seizures and other complications.
Bryanthe was taken to Gosford Hospital and was later transferred by medical flight evacuation to Randwick Children’s Hospital where she underwent life saving surgery. The surgeons saved Bryanthe’s life, but the result is that she now needs extensive specialist support to learn how to do rudimentary tasks such as walk and talk and to function as close to how she was previously.
Bryanthe's Mum, Lecelle, is a single mother who also has care for her own mother as well as Bryanthe. It is unknown how long and what support Bryanthe will need to get along in life. Lecelle will need to leave her place of contracted employment and will require a lot of support from family, friends, agencies and the community.
We are asking for help for Bryanthe and her Mum, to ease the stress of recovery by helping with practical monetary donations. Can you help?
