Cancer Multiple Myloma

I broke a bone in my right shoulder blade  after having shoulder replacement and 3 surgeries afterwards to correct what wasn't performed correctly in the beginning . On a Sunday afternoon June 30th I went to get up AND when I did something in my shoulder popped. It felt like it was dislocated. the following Monday I went to my Dr. and he sent me for a CAT scan  the results of the CAT scan showed a fractured bone and a TUMOR in shoulder bone. Ithought that they must have the wrong scan but after seeing another Dr. he confirmed the diagnosis.
I schedu;led appt to have surgery the following week and after the surgery and removal of the tumor the Dr, informed my family that it was CANCEROUS.  Of course being shocked by his finding they asked how he knew that when it hadn't been sent out for testing ? His response was it would be sent out for testing to confirm what with his experience was CANCER.
When I woke up and saw the look in my family members eyes and facial expression I knew that something was wrong. They confirmed my suspicions. Obviously I was shocked but knew things would be ok I am strong in my faith and I placed everything in Gods hands after all he is in control of our next breath.

The next step was finding a Oncologist I was referred to Dr. P Kavoor @ Texas Oncology by my Cardiologist
After meeting with him we put a game plan together and started with Radiation immediately after 10 radiation treatments we started a very Fierce Chemotherapy Regiment on Oct.19th 2018 that continued till Sept.26th 2019 when my CANCER become  non detected in my blood and only 3% in the Bone Marrow!!! The Chemo Treatments were successful.  Not that I didn't trust my TEAM or the NUMBERS I felt I needed a 2ND opinion.

I got a referral to see Dr.Kaughman @ MD ANDERSON Hospital in Houston,Tx.
I spent a week going threw testing of blood work, urine testing, PET SCAN, BONE  MARROW, Physial,Mental, and social testing.
after about 10 days I received the results and they were consistent with what I have from TEXAS ONCOLOGY !!!! Big Relief because my MULTIPLE  MYLOMA was not detected in my blood stream but was still in the BONE MARROW.
The CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT was successful !!!!

Now the next step is to remove my Bone Marrow Cells and perform the Bone Marrow Transplant

Prior to meeting with the Transplant Dr. I have developed a very Progressive state of COPD over the past 4 months I have spent over 16 days in the hospital with IMMUNE SYSTEM ISSUES Broncial Pneumonia after multiple rounds of Antibiotics over 3 months and 4 CAT scans nothing seemed to improve for very long.
So the next stepwas to do a Bronchostopy which was performed Feb.6th 2020 the surgery didn't go as well as expected.... while performing the surgery the Dr. poked a hole in my lung causing me to have to be admitted in the Hospital to observe the hole to make sure it didn't get any larger. After 3 different XRAYS they  determined that it indeed was not getting any  larger and said the body would heal itself in a few days and released me to go home and rest for 5 days before seeing my Dr. for another XRAY that is scheduled for this Wednesday Feb.12th 2020

During all the Radiation treatments,Chemo Therapy I have continued to work through all of this. And I am very Blessed I WORK for a company as good ( THE BEST ) as ASBURY AUTOMOTIVE who has Accommodated me in whatever way needed to take care of my health.
After my current hospital stay my Dr. has forced me to stay home and get well and when I say FORCED ME he will not give me a release to go back to work until I improve and he is satisfied tha I am.

All of us who work for ASBURY AUTOMOTIVE should be PROUD of our Company who always does the right thing when it comes to taking good care of it's EMPLOYEES !!!! I have worked for them 11years now & we continue to getting better to be. “ THE BEST AUTOMOTIVE CO. “ Last tear was the 1st year I was able to get Short Term / Long Term disability and it’s ASBURY waived any pre-qualifications. That Is A HUGE BENEFIT !!!! I would encourage anyone to look into it next year or next enrollment. I am currently on Short Term Disability until we get the COPD figured out
