Support Nathan's Fight for His Daughter's Safety

Hello friends and family, for those who know us, know we are big on family. We love hard for those we love, whether they are right or wrong. My stepson Nathan has had his ups and downs. He’s battled a fentanyl addiction; his last relapse was August 2024. While he was deep in his addiction, he met a 34-year-old woman who had strong feelings for him. Mind you, he was only 19-20 at the time when they messed around. He caught a prison term and while he was in prison, she informed him that she was pregnant and he was the father. He told her, no matter what, I have your back; I’ll step up to the plate and take care of my child. He was released about a month before the baby’s due date, and because he’s sober and no longer wants to be with her in a lover's type of way (because of the age difference and the lifestyle differences), she became bitter and mean towards him. She ended up having the baby without him being present. Just to mess with him, she did not give the baby his last name. That didn’t stop my son. He demanded a paternity test. He knew the baby was his. She looks just like him. He wants his rights to her. The paternity test came back 99.99% that he’s the father. Long story short, she wanted to control the baby and Nathan; she wanted to be his mother and not co-parent. She tried to make all the demands on what he could and couldn’t do when in fact he was sober. She started doing Narcos or some kind of substance again. She always called my husband and me, the grandparents, to watch the baby every Wednesday so she could run around. She was going to school, but that fell off, and then she just started running around. When she picked up the baby, she was belligerent and mumbling words because she was high. I am a drug and alcohol counselor, and I know when people are under the influence, and she was definitely on something. The baby mom is very neglectful towards the baby. She always came over dirty with diaper rashes, dirty nails, bad cradle cap, and clothes that were stinky and stained, as you can see in one of the pictures (with my son’s permission, and I hate to exploit my precious granddaughter like that, but I need the world to see what kind of mother she is). The baby was only around two to three months old in that picture; this was all the time she was dirty like this. But we can move past the filth because we can bathe her and clean her. We give her brand new clothes every week.

To the point for this GoFundMe… on May 22, 2025, my son had a gut feeling and went and checked on his baby. He noticed from 1 am to noon the next day the baby mother’s car was gone. Nathan finally went to the door to check on his 9-month-old baby girl. The door was open, and the baby was left alone in the home with her six-year-old brother. My son called me crying due to his daughter’s neglected state. Yes, he took the baby, who was in a very soiled diaper, and called 911. The baby’s six-year-old brother told my son that he hasn’t seen his mother since last night and he was hungry too. Cops came out and told my son to get custody. The following day, he made a court date. My son has done everything right as much as he could. The baby’s mother lied to child protective services and the cops. She claimed that my son learned her routines and stole the baby when she was at work. She doesn’t work! She’s on welfare! She told me she hasn’t worked in years. She was able to obtain a pro bono attorney and file ex parte, accusing my son of being a felon piece of shit dad. But she sure did love that felon and wanted a life with him. Because she is a pro at taking her kids' fathers to court and we don’t, she was able to get this baby back. Even though she neglected the baby and left her at home alone. We don’t know how child custody courts work. We thought CPS and law enforcement would protect the baby by keeping her with her dad because CPS found him fit and he is willing to do anything for his daughter. We were wrong; she was able to get the baby back using him being a felon, saying she wasn’t safe with him. He will be off probation in 2 weeks, hasn’t submitted a dirty drug test since that relapse back in August 2024, and he works a stable job paying that lady child support. Please help me make it make sense!!!???

We need help, people! We need help with funding for a private attorney. Everyone we’ve called wants $10-$15,000 for this case, and we don’t have it like that, so I’m asking if you guys can help my son with a private attorney. He is an amazing father to his beautiful daughter. They both love each other. She belongs back in a clean, healthy environment. If you know my son Nathan and have seen him with his daughter for these last two weeks, he’s never shone so bright. He’s had the biggest smile on his face being a daddy to his baby girl. Please help us reach our goal so we can bring the baby back. Anything helps.
