Taking on the Thames
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
We're taking on the Thames for Emily’s Garden!
We are embarking on a challenge to paddle board from Oxford to London, along the River Thames to raise money for the Emily’s Garden Foundation. Starting on July the 5th and aiming to complete on July 10th.
This charity was set up in memory of our dear friend Emily. Emily’s Garden helps build a sustainable future through Emily’s passions of drama, sport and education. Paired with the Environmental Society Oman and Good Chance theatre, the foundation has helped fund incredible projects within both charities. More information on the projects can be found here https://emilysgarden.nl/about-emilys-garden .
Romily decided she wanted to take on a big fundraising event this year and has teamed up with our good friend, Fiona Gordon and her canal boat, the Midnight Rambler. Romily and Dad will paddle board 99.9 miles down the Thames from Oxford to Kingston and Mollie will swim 33.3 km over 4 days.
We’re preparing for a lot of challenges along the way; weather, water quality and tiredness being a few! As with any event such as this, it’s taking a lot of planning, and we are so lucky to have the support of Fiona who knows the river like the back of her hand.
We're proud to be part of such a beautiful cause and to have the opportunity to take on a challenge like this. Emily loved the water, something that stemmed from living in Oman, so this is a particularly special event for us.
Donations are greatly appreciated by us, the Emily’s Garden Foundation and Emily’s family.
