Donazione protetta
Yesterday a very tragic event happened to our family. We live full-time in an RV, and yesterday while Boomer and I were at work the electricity surged causing the air conditioning to go off. Our beloved dogs Benny and Max were home alone. When Boomer arrived home from work at about 3PM, she opened the door to a temperature of 112 degrees. Unfortunately our little 12 year old Chihuahua Benny did not survive. Max was on the brink of passing away. Through the quick actions of our Son Clayton, Boomer and a caring neighbor they got him outside and into an ice bath. They kept him there until I could get home, and we rushed him to Apollo Beach Animal Hospital. By the time they started treating him his temperature was extremely low and hi blood work showed signs of difficulty with his kidney function, and very low platlets. They gave him IV fluids, antibiotics, pain meds, and anti-nausea medicine, and monitored him until well after they closed for the day. They then arranged for us to transport him to the Animal Emergency Clinic in Brandon for over night monitoring and continued IV fluids. This morning he is much more alert and responsive. He is back at Apollo Beach Animal Hospital where he will spend the day getting more IV fluids and anti-biotics and repeated blood work. He is not out of the woods and they would like to see his teperature back to normal(100F) as it was down to 93F last night. They are hoping the blood work shows his platlets go up, and that his blood work shows no permanent internal organ damage. As I am sure you can imagine, this treatment is very expensive and we would appreciate and support you could provide. Just last night we were already up to over $600 in expenses, today will be at least another $400, and then there will be follow-ups and at home sub-Q fluid treatments and medications. Any financial support you can provided will help defray the costs and allow us to provide him the support he needs. Benny was Boomer's constant companion and he will be truly missed by many, including Max. We are devastated that we were not able to save Benny, but would be utterly broken, if we lose them both. If you are not able to provide any financial assistance, prayers, good thoughts, and well wishes are also needed. Thank you all for any support you can provide to Max and his loving family.
