Funding Frosty! Jeff & Vanessa Need Your Help

Our beautiful boy Frosty who’s only 3 &1/2 years old, has been diagnosed with Steroid-Responsive Meningitis Arteritis on 6/9/2020. Diagnosis was produced after performing an MRI, Spinal Tap and ultrasound on his optic nerves and retinas.
This has been a very tough 2 months for us as we noticed our sweet boy was on the decline. He was really lethargic, depressed, could barely lift his head or keep his eyes open and had an odd headset along with significant weight loss to start. After multiple veterinarian visits, blood draws, urinalysis, diagnosis came up inconclusive. No answers!
On the morning on 6/8 after a short walk Vanessa noticed him trip and when making sure he was ok, looked in his eyes and his pupils were huge..”blown.” It must have happened overnight. We haven’t left his side, so it was very sad and heartbreaking that in a matter of a few hours our happy boy was scared and blind. We raced him to the emergency vet care where they confirmed he was completely blind with no light sensitivity. Devastation set in & we vowed to do whatever was humanly & humanely possible. After having to leave him in the hospital that night, newly blind, terrified and alone we cried our eyes out and couldn’t wait for the morning to come. The morning of 6/9/2020 we got to see him before the emergency MRI, spinal tap and ultrasound and gave him all our love and energy. He was extremely sickly yet he sought us out and we put our faces together and just held him. Let our blind boy get our scent and feel our love. Hours later the vet has come back with that diagnosis and that he very well may make a recovery. They immediately started steroid therapy and is optimistic he may get his vision back. We fear some hearing loss as well. The steroid therapy lasts months and is quite expensive with follow up care every 4-6 weeks, mind you we’ve already given $6400 to his care & the search for a diagnosis & cure. With his age and strength we are optimistic. It will be a difficult road but his quality of life will be quite well with this therapy.
As any of you can understand we know this is very trying times in our nation and world today. Jeff is currently laid off and I’m a full time student. We have ran through our savings and our leaning on our parents for help. We are dropping our prideful ways and asking for your help. Frosty only came to us a year and 1/2 ago . He just turned 3 in December and has had a rough life until us. He is a retired racer out of Daytona Beach. He has scars along his back one can’t even imagine what he has been through. If you’ve met him you know he’s all licks and happily just wants to hold your hand. He deserves a beautiful life, please help us in this time of need. Anything means something. Frosty and his family, Jeff, Vanessa, Bailey & Kate will forever be grateful. Thank you to all for reading our story.
