I'm walking 3,000km for Suicide Prevention
I’m walking 3,000km in 100 days | 1km for every person who died by suicide in 2019
The equivalent of Melbourne to Townsville
Please help me raise $3,000 for the prevention of youth suicide
We were planning to walk from Melbourne to Townsville, meeting people, sharing our experiences and raising money for the prevention of youth suicide.
The impact of COVID-19 means supporting one another, discussing mental health and the prevention of self-harm and suicide is even more important. So we’ve transformed our epic 3,000km journey from the highways to my garden path and streets closer to home.
3,000km in 100 days | 210km every week | raising $1.00 for every kilometre I conquer

Our Purpose
The number of people who commit suicide in Australia each year is staggering. This in itself is a good enough reason to have created Inspire socks. My life experiences provide the soul, passion, and purpose of the company
I have had a wonderful life. Along the way there have been challenges.
When I was 10 years old I was abused. A month before my 20th birthday my father was killed in a car accident. Three years later my mother committed suicide.
Separate to these challenges I suffer from clinical depression.
Following a slow decline of my mental health I came to a point of despair and hopelessness where I attempted suicide. I owe my recovery to superb medical care, and the support of my brother, sister and wonderful wife Ann. I am fortunate to respond well to antidepressant treatment and now experience life unaffected by depression.
Australia 2019 Statistics
3,046 deaths by suicide
More than 8 people committed suicide in Australia every day
To provide some context the road toll was 1,145
What is INSPIRE about?
We formed Inspire to bring together people in creative and business fields who want to be part of a new way to contribute to the community. Using our passion, drive, skills and networks to make real change. Through collective entrepreneurial philanthropy we leverage our talent to produce outcomes that are so much greater than we could achieve on our own.
We care deeply about youth mental health and the prevention of youth suicide. That’s why we donate our time and expertise creating, marketing and selling great socks
100% of the profits is donated to youth suicide prevention programmes
