In 2020 we are raising funds for Charity Build Group , a not-for-profit company established as a long term sustainable income source for both Eagles Wings and other like-minded charities assisting disadvantaged children and families. Our big picture dream is to raise $100,000 to start Charity Home #3.
To raise these funds we are asking people to jump out of planes, while myself and others ride our bikes a very, very long way.
In December, 2019 a few of us jumped over beautiful Lake Taupo to begin our efforts early! Some enjoyed, others were completely terrified but still jumped. Then a few weeks later, more jumps. This time over the Sunshine Coast on NYE at sunset!
$7,000 was raised.
On July 01 I began an attempt to break the current Guinness World record for fastest to cycle 10,000km currently set at a touch over 22 days. I did not make it, but over 100 cyclists joined our Strava Club named Ubuntu to finish off the 10,000km together.
$48,000 was raised (... and hopefully still counting).
Now we move back to our tandem jumps with a group jumping out of Skydive Noosa on the 29th August to continue to work towards our goal.
As we continue on funds will be directed as follows:
50% of our fundraising will go towards Charity Home #3
50% will go directly to EW Australia in order to have funds on the ground assisting communities EW Zambia serves.
We are doing whatever it takes to achieve something good in the life of disadvantage children and families. That’s our heart; that’s why we do what we do.
