Southend Cycling Club - 1000km Sydney to Byron
1000km Sydney to Byron (the long way)
It started with David’s ten year old wager that he would some day cycle to Byron, which at the time no one really believed him... and still don't!
Well he has finally come good and after roping Rupert and Colin to cycle with him, we will begin our journey at the end of March.
Thankfully we are going to be supported by the amazing Ahmed and Chris (someone needs to bring our PJ’s!)
The long arduous 7 day trek will begin on Thursday 25th March and finish on Wednesday 31st March.
Joking aside the main reason we are undertaking this journey is to raise some funds for NASCA (National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy).
NASCA utilises the power of structured sporting and culture programs to harness the life aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. Sport has played a very important part in all our lives so to even help a little bit to pass that opportunity onto others seemed like a good opportunity.
Every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means a lot to us.
At the end of the trip we really hope our bums don’t hurt so much that we forever end up walking like John Wayne (showing our age...) but it's likely inevitable!
