Help fund a kokanee salmon mural @ Strawberry Visitor Center
This campaign was created to help raise funds for an exterior large wall mural of a kokanee salmon at the Strawberry Reservoir Visitor Center in Utah. The Heber/Kamas District of the U.S. Forest Service owns the building. It is located along the Strawberry River on West Strawberry Road just off U.S. 40.
Each fall kokanee salmon come out of the reservoir and up the river to spawn, swimming past the building. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources holds an annual event at the visitor center each fall to celebrate this colorful and unique wildlife viewing event. This year the Strawberry Kokanee Salmon Day will be held September 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Generous non-profit groups have provided $3,000 of the $8,000 needed to complete the mural.
Utah Wildlife Walls is a partnership program between artist Chris Peterson and the Utah Wildlife Federation. The goal is to create at least one large wall wildlife mural in all 29 Utah counties. There are seven completed so far. Major donors will be acknowledged on a webpage featuring information about the mural and kokanee salmon on the Utah Wildlife Walls page found through a QR code on the mural.
Helps us celebrate all the wildlife species of Utah!
