Homeless Helpers (CARE Complex)

CARE Complex* is raising funds to help individuals and families transition out of homelessness and secure permanent housing. It is a little known fact that many individuals experiencing homelessness are employed, but due to a multitude of reasons cannot secure permanent housing. One of the biggest hurdles to securing permanent housing is the requirement of paying first and last month’s rent as well as various security deposits. Even if these individuals make enough money to pay the monthly rent, many find it extremely difficult to save enough funds to pay these fees, which can easily exceed $2,000.

Through our Homeless to Home (H2H) program, CARE Complex provides rent vouchers over the course of 12 months to ensure that individuals can not only secure housing, but can sustain the housing in the long run. To qualify for the program, our case managers identify individuals that meet the following criteria to ensure they are sufficiently prepared to transition into permanent housing:

If the individual/family meets the criteria above, we will issue a rent voucher for $700 paid directly to the Landlord to help with move-in costs, and additional $100 vouchers at 4, 8 and 12 month check-ins from our case managers. Since the inception of this program in 2017, we have successfully housed over 200 individuals and families, the overwhelming majority of which remain in permanent housing today.

Our unique approach to housing individuals has contributed to the overwhelming success of our H2H program. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to fund this program in 2024, which will be generously matched by Wayne Tew and the Passion for Influence organization. Every single dollar raised will go directly to the H2H program and will NOT include overhead or administration fees, thus reaching our fundraising goal of $200,000 will help 200 individuals experiencing homelessness a chance for a new beginning in permanent housing. The 2023 Homeless Census Count estimated over 6,500 individuals were homeless in Las Vegas, and while we still have a long way to go to eliminate homelessness, our program is uniquely positioned to make huge strides in decreasing this number with your generous support.
