MAA Appeal for your support to help storm victims of Bara-Parsa, Nepal

A rainstorm swept through southern (Bara-Parsa region) Nepal on Sunday, Local time 8 pm Nepali time, leaving at least 30 people dead and 400 more injured. Currently, it has become harder and challenging to assess the situation due to the darkness and no electricity to recover the bodies – live or dead).

Security forces have been alerted, rescue teams and helicopters with night-vision capabilities are waiting for the weather to clear to help the injured people from affected villages. The deaths would likely to increase because the storm had hit many villages in the Bara District, located about 75 miles south of the capital, Kathmandu.

MAA (Madhesi Association in America) have already contacted its members/regional associations in the affected region to assess the situation and help them per our capacity. We will keep you updated as we receive the further information.

Per the information MAA received as of now, there is a need of various disaster relief supplies as soon as possible, thus, we would like to request donating generously to help the affected fellow Nepalese. We will disburse the fund every 24 hours, from here to the affected area so our members can distribute the distribute supplies without any delays.
