Widowed mother of 2 battles cancer
From my heart to yours, I am looking to the community to help support a dear friend and beautiful mother Amy who has been diagnosed with Luekemia a cancer of the blood.
Amy is 25. A widowed mother of 15 month old twin boys Cash and Cruz. Amy's love of her life commited suicide in 2016, leaving her to raise her two children independently. With limited supports, Amy has shown courage, determination and true strength as a sole parent.
Unfortunately in the month of April 2017 Amy was given the devastating news that she has Luekemia and will need to undergo chemotherapy. Amy has spent every day hospitalised since being diagnosed and has a long road to recovery.
It would be a wonderful thing if as a community we could come together to give some light into the life of Amy and her boys. Every donation counts and will assist in the cost of medical bills, a good quality wig to help boost Amy's confidence and most importantly to help support her young twins who have a fulfilling life to live.
She is now back in hospital completing her second round chemo which the doctors have explained will involve the same drug she had last time but at 30 times higher than her original dosage. We have heard she isn't feeling great but of course she is still in the highest of spirits and she definitely has not lost her sense of humor.
Also Amy has finally agreed to let us increase the amount of her gofundme goal. We have done this because after speaking to her doctors we understand Amy is going to be sick for longer than we originally had expected. This is already a huge amount of money for Amy so she was quite hesitant to increase the goal amount, she is a very selfless person and she often disregards her own needs so as to not burden anyone else. She has struggled for a long time but we won't let her do that while she is sick.
She is so so grateful for all of the love and prayers she has received. It has been a very bright light during this dark time. I will try to keep everyone up to date on her progress. Thank you all again!
Amy, you're a superstar! Donating the excess is a massive thing to do which truly shows that you have a heart of gold. I read your story in the advertiser today and I was a blu bbering mess at the end of it. You've endured so much in your short life, yet you continue to fight with every beat of your heart. Raising twins is hard work, I know. My twin girls are now 15. You will be able to look back on this in 10 years time and think 'yep, just another hurdle'... Sending love, light & prayers to you and your gorgeous boys. Thankyou for the update! - Teash.
