Veil - TV Pilot

Donation protected

After a biological disaster contaminates the planet’s atmosphere, the wealthy have escaped into technologically advanced “clean zones” and left the less fortunate to fend for themselves in areas exposed to infected air. After a bad drug trip triggers dissociative memories of her identical twin sister, a drug dealer named Alayna Maddix travels to these clean zones to make sense of the hallucinations. When a case of mistaken identity thrusts her into a ring of dangerous antique smugglers, Alayna discovers all is not what it seems.

Veil
is one of two full-length Television Pilots that will be produced by Chapman University's Dodge College of Film & Media Arts. The pilot is slated to start principal photography this winter 2017 for 6 days and is on track to be completed in May with applications to TV festivals starting right then after.

We are striving to take the television program into on-location shooting— for that you need your help!

With Veil , we aim to elevate the quality and production value of typical student projects. Taking inspiration from the likes of Blade Runner and Children of Men which utilized famous real-life locations and landmarks, we feel that grounding Veil's strange setting in our own reality will help accentuate the cautionary undertones of the story. It is very important to us that we focus on production design and shooting on location--but both of these cost a lot of money.

In an attempt to do justice to the decaying alternate future, a substantial portion of Veil's budget is funneled toward production design and art.

Money raised by this campaign will be allocated to location costs with any extra being happily given to the art department.
