In early September 2015, 2 year old Felipe aka "Pipe" Muyshondt was taken to his pediatrician because he was losing balance. A few doctors and a few days later, a 6cm tumor was found in his brain through an MRI. The following morning, he underwent a 10 hour surgery to remove the tumor. That tumor has been diagnosed as a stage 3 ependymoma. 

On October 12th, he was relocated from his home in El Salvador with his mother, Patricia and his father, Gerardo, to MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas.  While there, he underwent proton radiation treatment.  The tumor was under control, until it reappeared at the one year follow up. This led to a second surgery and a round of photon radiation.

Now that Pipe is 4 years old, the battle continues. 2 years after his first treatment, the tumor has appeared again. A third surgery is being scheduled for next week.  Outside of the vast medical expenses we are hopeful get covered, there are many other day-to-day expenses that we all can help out with.
