Support Pamela Hesselbachers Family
Pamela was walking with her children across the crosswalk when someone ran a red light and struck her and the children
Pamela was taken to Chandler Regional where she died shortly upon arrival. Her husband Matt arrived at the scene and rode in the ambulance with the children to Maricopa Medical. 3 yr old Ryan has a broken arm, hips and lacerations. 1 yr old Audrey is in a coma and has a broken hand.
Pamela's only goal in life was to care for her family. The cost of medical care is adding up quickly Please consider helping Matt, Ryan and Audrey with a donation since Pam no longer can. Thank you for your consideration.
Just got call from victims rights. The judge is not there so the prosecutor should be filing a continuance. Was told that it will probably be 30 days (unsure because of the holidays. I did request that it not be directly before or after Xmas)
I am deeply hurt that over the last 2 years that We have not been able to convince the county attorneys office to file felony charges. We were told that they sympathized with us but the current laws (and more loopholes, we discovered his Facebook was active on his phone but even though the technology is there to see if he was actively using, typing, swiping, clicking , etc. during the accident the county attorney will not look into it because being on social media is not listed as a reason for being distracted where charges can be made) will only allow them to do so much. We have spent numerous months getting “Pam’s Law” passed to increase the penalty for future victims. Now we are being told that they will more than likely not prosecute him to the fullest extent under the lesser charge he is grandfathered in on. All the work we have done getting the laws strengthened will have been nothing but a waste of time, effort and sense of personal failure. (If they don’t enforce a lesser penalty they certainly won’t charge future cases with a greater one)
I appreciate all the support everyone has given to our family.
Aka Pam’s Mom
ps... Matt, Pamela’s husband has filed a civil suit and his lawyer received a call from Epperleins lawyer stating that it was a waste of time because he was going to file bankruptcy and civil cases can be erased in bankruptcies. Also the owner of the truck cannot be found t o serve the civil suit to. (The vehicle was not insured)
The possibility of collecting any monetary compensation is extremely slim this makes the donations people made to the GoFundMe account is so helpful and appreciated
The bill goes back to the house to vote on the amendments
If all goes well there we meet the Governor
The amendments are on the misdemeanor side we asked for the cap of retribution which is currently capped at $10,000. Be removed. The amendment puts a new cap of $100,000. This penalty must have receipts showing actual monetary bills incurred because of the incident
It also details that a felony can be charged if the person does not carry insurance that was mandated by the court because of a prior DUI
Lastly if the charges fall within the felony class and it resulted in death it becomes a class 3 felony instead of a class 4
One amendment proposed by senator Mendez did not pass which would have added even more loopholes than what we started with.
There will be a final read sometime in the senate. Then the changes are voted on in the House. If all goes well we get to meet the governor!
If there's 'ANY...THING' that I can do to help out please let me know. I'm retired and live close to the area of this family and willing to help out with things that most people don't think about - like yard work, home maintenance, and anything the father might not have his mind right now nor for a long time, but needs tending to. My name is Dennis (602) 736-6544
My daughters met Pamela on Saturday night as they were walking our dog and she was taking her children to the park. They were very happy to meet Pamela and thought she was such a nice mom and that her children were adorable. They were very happy that she liked our little dog. Our family is devastated that less than one hour after that lovely meeting, that this terrible tragedy occurred. Our family is hurt and wounded by this event. Our prayers go our to the family and we will never forget Pamela. We are so sad and sorry that this happened. As one of my daughters wrote on her Facebook page, "life is fleeting, please be kind to one another." Our sympathy to the family and friends.
Because this was a crime, the family might be eligible for victim compensation through the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. It can help pay for funeral and medical expenses. You can go to the MCAO web site and download the application, which can be found under "Victim Services."
Jody - you have been amazing in your efforts to communicate with family, friends and the public who doesn't even know your family (I'm in the last category). You have kept the focus on Pamela's husband and children. I can't even begin to imagine the agony you have endured with your own personal loss. I'm certain the holidays will be very tough on everyone. May you feel God's arms around you and your family.
Jai Guruji...pls accept my deepest condolences...the good and the nicest souls are always taken soon as they need more of those up there..I am sure she is meant for bigger better things..and has moved on to the next phase of the longest soul journey...pls be strong as she would always be the guiding angel for her family.
I am so sad to hear this and my prayers go out to this family. if I could get an address hat will receive gifts I would love to personally send some Christmas gifts to the children. you can instant message me if you like. once part of the Viking family always part of the family ..
I am so happy to hear the good news on Ryan being able to be moved to a room so his dad can spend time with him, and it shows signs that he is improving. And that is great news on Abby that her brain levels are dropping. While there is much concern for her recovery, one small sign of progress gives hope for the family to hold onto. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with all of you.
