Sock Donation Chicago's Homeless
Donation protected
Can you imagine a Chicago winter without socks!!
Four years ago Abby Zeciroski met a homeless man on the blue line. He showed me his severe frost bite on his hands and feet. It was shocking to see frost bite that bad. He went to the ER and they released him with no socks.
I left that experience wanting to help homeless people in a small way and raise awareness about homelessness.
Socks are the most needed but least donated item.
Over the past 3 years we have raised 4,000 pairs of socks.
It is amazing how much people wanted to help.
Businesses, like Sat Nam Yoga got involved to make the world a better place.
We are extremely grateful for all the people who donate and share on social media.
Sock Donations will be given directly to homeless people on the street Thanksgiving day, The Crib (LGBTQIA) overnight youth shelter, and women domestic violence shelter.
Donations will buy new socks for the homeless .
The support means so much to me and the people we serve. The homeless really love that people care about them and want to help in a small way.
I'm grateful for your support.
You can also drop off donations at several locations.
