Veteran and family in need of help!

My wife and I moved back home because her father is sick. we started looking for places to live and found a place close to his doctors so we can be close to them.Dad is in stage 4 renal failure ..congestiv heart failure..has had a tripple bypass..and he also has PTSD from the military..wife found a place on Craigslist even though there were sites that had same house...we got ahold of this person and started talking and he had a very convincing story knew alot about the house ..said he was the owner..after a week worth talking we moved on the house.low and behold after we have lease a person showed up with a real lease..ok now cats out of them bag..so real company said we could rent this and move the other lady to this other house she liked..owner said we file fraud and do what we can and we can keep the place ..but we are out of funds..we put everything into this place and are trying to get it back..police said they will do what they can...we need help world..we have no where to go and we can keep this place...but need help with keeping us here..wife full time student I just started my construction company and dad is disabled veteran..we need help bouncing back from this crule scam. Now we are out thousands of dollars and are trying to figure out how to keep the house so we aren't completely homeless. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you and God bless you.
