Maeve's Oboe Fund
Donazione protetta
Maeve is an AMAZING oboe player. She has been first or second chair every time in the last three years. She made Duxbury Middle School's Silver band (the best of the best). And this year she auditioned and made the junior district band for Eastern Massachusetts. In addition, Maeve made it into the South Shore Conservatory's symphony which is composed mostly of kids much older than her.
So why are we raising $4000? Because Maeve's skill has increased so much in the past three years, that she is ready for a professional oboe. In fact, because she will be so involved in Duxbury's music program -- and continuing to perform in SSC's symphony -- a professional oboe is a requirement. It will be her vehicle to play at Carnegie Hall with Duxbury's Wind Esemble, at Disney World with the Duxbury band, and her tool as she mentors young oboe players through the Duxbury music program. The reason she needs a professional oboe to accomplish these goals, is that a professional oboe has a wider range of notes and has a much better sound than the starter oboe she is playing on now.
Maeve has a super-strong work ethic, and all of her life I have instilled in her a desire to succeed and to do her very best in every thing she does. She consistently excels at her school work as an honor student as she pursues her passion of music. I am so proud of her and I am comitted to seeing her continue along her path of excellence.
By making a donation, not only will you be helping Maeve get a great instrument, you will be providing for her future. Because the oboe is such a difficult instrument to play, good oboe players are in high demand at colleges. By having a professional instrument she will have a much higher chacnce of getting a scholarship to college. You will also help her instill good values as she begins to mentor younger students in the Duxbury School music department.
Our goal is raise $4000 by March 15th. This will give Maeve time to contribute to her fund through her babysitting job, and it will give me a chance to save some money as well. I encourage you to listen to some of the attached videos so you can understand what kind of amazing music Maeve is involved in.
I sincerely thank you for any contribution you can make.
Warm Regards,
Lari & Maeve Hart
