Sergiy Kelshev, a young photographer from Ukraine, is in dire need of a life saving surgery.

My name is Nataliia and I would like to share my tragic story with you.
My husband and I are photographers from Ukraine. For about half a year we were working for photo stocks in the countries of Southeastern Asia. On March 26th, 2015 my husband, Sergiy Kelshev was involved in a horrific car-motocycle accident in the south Vietnam on the outskirts of city Kamran. He was admitted to the hospital in Kamran, then transferred to Nya Chang and then to Ho Chi Min (Vietnam). On April 11th with the help of so many caring people we were able to transfer Sergiy to Bangkok, Thailand for further treatment. The doctors in Vietnam did their best, but the wounds are so complicated that they recommended treatment in Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok.
At the moment, Sergiy condition is critical, but stable. The treatment is very expensive for me and my family. Even though family, friend and just caring people had helped to gather around $55-60000. The money were used to pay for hospitals in Vietnam ($4000 in Nya Chang; Cho Rai hospital in Ho Chi Min — $5000 for one surgery and 3 day stay; in Bangkok hospital — $20800, for multiple surgeries and ICU stay; transfer to Bangkok from Vietnam — $27400). Then we were giving «ok» to take Sergiy home to Ukraine for further treatment. We were flown on commercial airline with special conditions for $3400.
Since then for over 8 months we have been in Ukraine in Kiev Hospital of heat trauma and plastic surgery #2.
Sergiy underwent 17 surgeries. His diagnosis is complicated and extraordinary: torn bladder, wide spread post traumatic defect of body (20%), left thigh with revealed thigh bones and lower back bones and necrosis; open fracture of pelvic bones, closed multiple fractures of the right thigh; paresis of lower ligaments, more on the left. In the condition of septic intensive care he was consulted by numerous specialists including traumatologists, neurosurgeons of ICU, specialists of the University of orthopedics and traumatology.
The case is very rare and complicated. Surgeons in Ukraine, Thailand and Vietnam have not dealt with anything like that before. This is a unique and difficult case that may be interesting to various practicing specialists: trauma orthopedists, neurosurgeons.. Interesting from the point of reconstruction of broken hip and lower back area and the practice with caring for such traumas.
The specialists that examined Sergiy here in Ukraine cannot come to a consensus. That is why I am asking you all to, please, help us find specialists in other countries for consultation and further treatment. The hospitals in Ukraine are not accepting Sergiy, beside the one we are in right now. They are treating and caring for Sergiy even though his traumas are not their specialty. They are saying that Sergiy is a very difficult case for them.
We are so lucky that in such a short period of time so many people from all around the world helped us and we were able to raise a little over $100,000 to cover mounting expenses. We still owe $14,000 to Bangkok hospital.
Through all the daily suffering and pain Sergiy is still trying to smile and thank you all.
Treatment and hospital stay in Ukraine is costing us $3,800-$4,500 a month. The life saving surgery (which could possibly be performed in Germany as soon as necessary amount is gathered) is estimated to cost between $50-$100 thousand dollars.
I am asking you all to, please, help Sergiy. Please, do not stand aside when there is a hope in saving a life and getting through this horrific situation. That You to all who is helping us.
