Abby's Recovery Page

Unfortunately, today we had the unthinkable happen and strangers entered our yard and beat my dog Abby with a stick. Abby has liver disease and has had ongoing health issues and this has made the head trauma and bruising increase dramatically. Abby has wounds and head trauma and her eye is swollen shut. They are going to be monitoring for swelling of the brain and that the blood is not internal. Her platelets levels have dropped to less than 5000 which makes her critical and she may need to receive blood transfusions. She is already on IV fluids and pain medications and may need special medications to decrease the swelling. We are praying she doesn't have any broken bones or any unforeseen injuries. Her mouth may have some broken teeth but at this early stage, it is still too soon to tell. I am unsure of what medical bills will be so it's hard to estimate. We are praying for a full recovery because Abby is a fighter and her sister wants her home. Even at her most vulnerable, she still didn't attack because she is lovable and precious.  I am sure the bills are going to increase quickly and any help is greatly appreciated.
