You may remember the catfishing trip that turned into a kitten fishing trip on the Warrior River in Alabama. Here is a link to the story, http://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2015/08/watch_alabama_fishermen_rescue.html

Summary of Story from al.com:

Two guys go fishing and catch a pair of kittens.

It'd be hard to believe if it weren't on video.

Jason Frost, who lives in Hueytown, and his friend Brandon Key were out on the Warrior River near Bluff Creek Saturday morning when they heard a splash and saw something swimming across the water toward them. They weren't sure exactly what it was until they heard the meows.

The kitten, an orange tabby that looked to be about a few months old, swims right up to their boat and Frost picks it up by the nape of the neck and sets it aboard. The kitten shakes off and starts meowing.

"Never in my life have I seen anything like that," Frost says in the video.

They see another kitten jump into the river and start swimming toward them, so they move the boat closer using the trolling motor and Frost quickly snatches it up into the boat. The two kittens are identical.

"Well there's a first time for everything, isn't there?" Frost says.

The kittens were friendly and perfectly fine being on the boat, Frost said.

"People were looking at us out on the water like, 'Oh my God, these people got cats with them,'" Frost told AL.com.

When they got to shore, they saw a family with two little girls who each wanted a kitten, and they gave them to the family...

Well, this is where I come in, the girls could not keep them and they left them at Howton's camp, cafe. I took them home and gave them a forever home.
The two adorable orange kittens became my boys . I named them Warrior and River.

There has been an outpouring of interest and kindness and I decided to use the interest in Warrior and River's lives to help other animals be rescued. The name I have chosen is "The Warrior and River Rescue Fund". Here is my plan.

The first step is for me to raise funds to create a non-profit to help support  the animals I have rescued and other rescued animals, shelters and rescue friends in the area. These funds will help establish, the Warrior and River Rescue Fund, a future 501 3C. I will be helping Alabama rescuers, shelters and foster families rescue more wonderful animals. I  will also use funds to build Warrior and River a catio and treehouse.

Howton's camp, is a long time landmark at the junction of the Big and Little Warrior Rivers. Now, home to Warrior and River.
