My name is Jessica Denson, and last November, without an attorney, I sued my former employer, the Donald J. Trump for President campaign. I joined the campaign in good faith, but was mislead, and mistaken. My tenure was a hostile, threatening, and abusive experience that I realized I must confront legally - for myself, and others.
Once I filed, the Trump campaign retaliated with an attempt to silence me and hide the facts of my case from the American people. They weaponized an NDA I signed to work on the campaign, falsely claiming it was an employment agreement that had jurisdiction to send my case to secret arbitration, and using it to pursue me for $1.5 million in damages. This prompted me to bring a separate suit to have the NDA as a whole declared void and unenforceable.
There has been great progress so far - the judge in my first case has denied the Trump campaign’s motion to use the NDA to compel arbitration of my employment claims. That case will go forward in open court.
