This Haddon Township Crew team deserves to compete at US Rowing Youth Nationals in Sarasota Florida. In just the past two weeks, HT Crew varsity rowers Paul Duffy, Dan McGarry, Erik Tingley and Luke Brown have medaled at two national regattas. On May 27th the team earned silver at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America Championship (shown in picture at top of page with Coach Gregg Francis) and the week before, the boys took bronze at Stotesbury - the world's largest high school regatta.

Now, all attention is on Florida. It will be last competition for this Haddon Township Crew foursome who have been rowing together since their freshmen year at Haddon Township High School. While most of the nation will be relaxing at a bar-b-que Memorial Day holiday, these seniors will be on the Cooper River pushing themselves to perfect what is already an impressive boat. It will be their home until it's time to catch that plane for Sarasota where Youth Nationals begins June 9th.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our supporters -- we are moving quickly toward our goal of $7,000. Let's keep it going. If you've read this far -- it means you care. Whatever you can donate will be greatly appreciated. All money raised through this campaign will be dedicated to sending the rowers, their coaches and their boat 1,000 miles south to compete at US Rowing Youth Nationals. Haddon Township Crew Club is a small team (26 rowers) and is completely self-funded. Our budget is lean and we just are unable to absorb the airfare, lodging and other costs associated with participating in this event.

Youth Nationals is an invitation-only regatta where the best high school and club teams compete for top honors. Haddon Township Crew will be there - with your help. Thank you!

Haddon Township Varsity Quad is now ranked 14th in the nation with the boys strong finish in the C Finals at Youth Nationals this morning. Our team came in a close second, having held first place for most of the race. They fought hard and all who watched the live stream (or view the video) will see they gave it their all and were completely spent at the finish. A few hours later, the boys and coaches held their last team meeting poolside (see photo). All of this would not have been possible without your generous support. Thank you!

HT Crew's Varsity Quad had their last practice on Cooper River this morning before heading off for US Rowing Youth Nationals. The air was chilly at the boathouse, but it was a warm send off for the foursome shown here with their parents, coaches and some early risers who came to relay a personal 'good luck' to the rowers. Tomorrow the team boards a plan for Sarasota, Florida (with its 90+ heat) where they will compete with the best-of-the-best at the US Rowing Youth Nationals. Erik, Paul, Dan and Luke send their heartfelt appreciation to their supporters who have made it possible for them to demonstrate what Haddon Township Crew athletes can do. Go Hawks.
6:30 am and everyone's smiling.
