Get HT Crew to Nationals
This Haddon Township Crew team deserves to compete at US Rowing Youth Nationals in Sarasota Florida. In just the past two weeks, HT Crew varsity rowers Paul Duffy, Dan McGarry, Erik Tingley and Luke Brown have medaled at two national regattas. On May 27th the team earned silver at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America Championship (shown in picture at top of page with Coach Gregg Francis) and the week before, the boys took bronze at Stotesbury - the world's largest high school regatta.
Now, all attention is on Florida. It will be last competition for this Haddon Township Crew foursome who have been rowing together since their freshmen year at Haddon Township High School. While most of the nation will be relaxing at a bar-b-que Memorial Day holiday, these seniors will be on the Cooper River pushing themselves to perfect what is already an impressive boat. It will be their home until it's time to catch that plane for Sarasota where Youth Nationals begins June 9th.
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our supporters -- we are moving quickly toward our goal of $7,000. Let's keep it going. If you've read this far -- it means you care. Whatever you can donate will be greatly appreciated. All money raised through this campaign will be dedicated to sending the rowers, their coaches and their boat 1,000 miles south to compete at US Rowing Youth Nationals. Haddon Township Crew Club is a small team (26 rowers) and is completely self-funded. Our budget is lean and we just are unable to absorb the airfare, lodging and other costs associated with participating in this event.
Youth Nationals is an invitation-only regatta where the best high school and club teams compete for top honors. Haddon Township Crew will be there - with your help. Thank you!
