Shannon Aguilar's Medical Fund
Donazione protetta
Hi. My name is Dorothy Melloy and I set up this page for my dear friend Shannon Aguilar. As some of you may know, Shannon was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was a shock to all of us as she has no family history of ovarian cancer. She had surgery on Sept 28 and started Chemotherapy on Nov 11. Her cancer is a rare and very aggressive strain. She is keeping in high spirits and continuing with her daily life of raising two beautiful daughters, Gabby and Mia with her "rock" Ricardo. This is how she described her husband Ric to me after two grueling weeks in the hospital...he is her rock.
Her case is rare, due to the type and her young age. For this reason her Dr. got special approval to send Shannon to MD Anderson in Houston where 15 OBGYN Oncologists can review her case and determine the next steps. As you can imagine her medical bills are astronomical, which is why I have set up this page to help Shannon and her family with her medical costs. Shannon has also had to quit her part time job because of her diagnosis and complications which arose from surgery that she will be dealing with for at least the next 6 months.
In this time of Thanksgiving and the holidays I know everyone is busy but I also know it's an incredible time of giving. Please take a moment to consider donating to Shannon and please pray for her and her family. She has a long road ahead of her and the possibility of additional surgery after her first round of chemo is completed.
