Zim's Linguistic Education Continues...

Hello! Bonjour! Hallo! Hola!

My name is Zim and I love learning languages. Currently I can speak English, French, German and Spanish. I just graduated from high school and will be attending a Spanish language school in Spain this fall.

I had the opportunity to travel to France for an immersion semester in my junior year of high school and many of you helped make that trip a reality by donating to my last Gofundme. I am incredibly thankful for and humbled by the support I received from my community at home and across the globe. That life-changing trip helped me discover my passion for languages and appreciate the human connections that come from learning about other people and their cultures on their own terms.

I'm very excited that I've been accepted to the AIP Escuela de Idiomas in Valencia, Spain and will be living and working there for a year! This Gofundme is to help with the cost of tuition, which is five thousand euros. I have been working full time and saving for over a year and am hoping to raise some funds to help with the remainder.

Any amount is appreciated to get me started on this journey! I will be able to work in Spain with my student visa once I'm settled there.

There's something special about the unique challenge of learning a language that fascinates me endlessly. It's about learning a new method of communication through immersion and personal experiences. Everyone's language learning journey will be different as we all have different interests, personalities and styles of speaking. The words one person uses will be completely different from someone else, meaning that no two vocabularies, understandings of grammar or methods of learning will be alike. In addition to that the reactions that you get and the way people smile when they realize you can speak their language is so special and it really allows you to connect with someone on a deeper level than was possible before.
