PTSD Service Dog for my Sister

Donation protected
My sister, Tani has PTSD from childhood abuse and sexual assault. She has been working hard to deal with the mental and physical health that were effected by the traumas.

A lot of Tani's symptoms have gotten better from working with a treatment team, but PTSD still effects almost every aspect of her life.  As well as the more common PTSD symptoms (flashbacks, nightmares, depression, anxiety/panic, etc.) she has several episodes a week of non-epileptic seizures. Getting a PTSD Service Dog would really help her manage these symptoms. She can't drive anymore. She wasn't able to finish college, and is currently on Disability because she isn't always well enough to be reliable at a job.

We found an organization called AlphaK9, which trains service dogs  specifically for each individual’s needs. They can help bring someone out of flashbacks and nightmares, interrupt self-harm thoughts, provide comfort and a sense of safety. When she has a seizure, her dog will be able to alert others for help, while protecting from unsafe contact.

AlphaK9 is in Sacramento, CA. They have won awards for their exceptional service dogs. I know one of AlphaK9’s dogs would be really helpful for my sister. The only issue is that a dog and training cost $3000-$5000. AlphaK9 is wonderful and has been able to acquire many sponsorships to help veterans receive service dogs. Although they are trying, they haven't  been able to get sponsors for non-veterans with PTSD. So I am hoping you would consider helping her get a PTSD service dog.
