He creado esta página para recaudar fondos para mi primo hermano Rafael Cruz Stracuzzi:
El motivo por el que he decidido hacer este fondo es porque mi primo fue diagnosticado el 19 de mayo de Linfoma primario del mediastino. En medio de la pandemia que atravesamos, comenzó con síntomas muy similares a los del COVID, cada día que pasaba se intensificaban más, luego de confirmar que el resultado de un posible COVID era negativo, la preocupación se intensifico por parte de sus padres y familia, tenía muchos problemas respiratorios, dolores inexplicables.
Este mes no ha sido convencional. Desde el momento que supo que no estaba contagiado de COVID, estuvo internado de urgencia por su cuadro crítico. Se ha sometido a diversos exámenes médicos que han determinado con exactitud su diagnóstico y el tipo de tratamiento que debe recibir para volver a estar sano.
Es complicado explicarles lo que para mí y mi familia significa enterarnos de la enfermedad tan invasiva que teníe mi primo a su corta edad, ha sido un cambio muy duro tanto a nivel físico como mental, pero durante todo este tiempo hemos visto la gloria de Dios en su vida y el apoyo incondicional de familiares y amigos a través de sus oraciones diarias.
Su tratamiento tiene una duración aproximada de 6 meses, los cuales implican entre 6 a 8 sesiones de quimioterapia con costos aproximados de $30,000.00 c/u, que ha podido solventar parcialmente con su seguro. Sin embargo, necesita financiar el resto de su tratamiento, también existen otros gastos que no ha podido cubrir con el seguro: exámenes médicos, cuidados paliativos y medicamentos, entre otros.
Soy consciente de que en medio de la crisis global del COVID-19 todos estamos reajustando nuestras vidas y nuestras prioridades, pero quiero que sepan que cada aporte, por más pequeño que sea, cuenta, pero sobretodo, formará parte de su lucha contra el cáncer. Toda mi familia cree mucho en el poder de la oración por lo que les pido tengan presente a mi primo en sus oraciones.

The reason I decided to make this fundraiser is that my cousin was diagnosed on May 19 with Primary Mediastinal Lymphoma. During the pandemic we are going through, he started showing symptoms very similar to those of COVID - 19. Each passing day the symptoms were more intensified. After confirming that his test result for COVID - 19 was negative, his parents' and families' concern grew even more. He had many breathing problems and unexplained pain.
This month hasn't been conventional. From the moment he learned that he was not infected with COVID, he was urgently hospitalized because of his critical condition. He has undergone several medical tests and biopsies that have accurately determined his diagnosis and the type of treatment he must receive to be healthy again.
It's hard to explain how distressing it is for me and my family to learn about this invasive disease my cousin has at his young age. It's been a difficult change both physically and mentally, but throughout this time we have seen the glory of God in his life and the unconditional support of family and friends through his daily prayers.
His treatment lasts approximately 6 months, which involves between 6 to 8 chemotherapy sessions with a cost of approximately $30,000.00 for each session. His insurance only covers a part of his treatment. However, he needs to fund the rest of his treatment and there are also other expenses that he has not been able to cover with his insurance: medical examinations, palliative care, and medications among others.
I am aware that during the global COVID-19 crisis we are all adjusting our lives and priorities, but I want you to know that every contribution, however small, counts, but above all, it will be part of his fight against cancer. My whole family believes a lot in the power of prayer, so I ask you to keep my cousin in your prayers. Thank You.
