In July 2021, my fiancé Stephen Harrington was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in his left kidney. High grade papillary urothelial carcinoma. On Friday the 24th of September he began chemo treatments. His oncology team wants 8 treatments of chemo to be completed over 12 weeks time, followed by 6 weeks of recovery, and then removal of his kidney with another 6-12 weeks of recovery from from surgery. Due to this, Steve has not been able to work and he could really use help for bills, living expenses, travel expenses to and from the VA hospital, and any other expenses along the way. His VA claim was recently denied and he has had to retain an attorney to help appeal this. Unfortunately, this process can take months if it gets approved at all.

This is a man who has always worked hard.... always being the first to offer help to any and every one (especially his fellow veterans) that needed it.... whether they asked for help or not, and often doing so behind the scenes.
