My father, sister Rina (20), brother Khader (21) and aunt were still in Rafah when the border was attacked and closed. Please keep them in your prayers. Nowhere is safe in Gaza.

But thankfully because of your outpouring of generosity, the rest of my family has escaped and is now safe and recovering.

We are currently raising funds to help us rebuild a life from nothing. We also need funds for critical medical care for my niece Afaf, who has Down Syndrome and my mother who has been very ill since the genocide started.

The funds you contribute will assist with the following (Updated 5/12/24):

Actual Costs for safe passage to Egypt for all family members. €60,000.

Actual Costs for food and food aid in Gaza €15,000
Recover & Rebuild in Egypt: Set up the family with a temporary place to stay in Egypt, while it is determined what the best path forward. Costs for safe living space, food, supplies. Estimated €45,000

Medical Expenses: Some family members became very ill during the siege, Afaf, baby Ayman, Hanan and their grandmother are in need of medical care. Estimated €10,000

Immigration fees & legal costs: estimated $25,000

Total Estimated need €118,000 - €160,000

Hello everyone I'm Mohammed Aldaghma. I come to you with an urgent plea to help me raise the funds needed to evacuate my family from Gaza. I left Gaza years ago, and have been supporting my family from Belgium. Thus I am the only member of my family with access to the outside world to advocate on their behalf.

We are especially worried about my 8 year old niece Afaf. Afaf has Down Syndrome, and for her that means she has many other health conditions like a vulnerable immune system, gastro-intestinal failures and her heightened sensitivities to her environment.

She is experiencing extreme panic and stress that her sensitive body cannot handle. We are worried that she will not survive.There are reports from Gaza of people with Down Syndrome going into cardiac arrest reacting to the extreme stress and fear of violence.

My family is currently living in a tent near the Egyptian border. With the ongoing bombing and violence we are in desperate need of collective support and generosity. We have lost everything. Please share my family's fundraiser with anyone you can.
