The Gift Of Hearing!

The gift of hearing comes free for most people, but I have to pay for it. It’s a costly gift but worth almost any price, wouldn't you agree?

Hi, my name is Deidre. I was born with hearing loss & became permanently deaf at 6 years old. I created this go fund me because my world is about to go silent- permanently.

Why? I have a Cochlear Implant, something a little like a hearing aid, but surgically implanted. I wear a tiny processor behind my ear. My current processor is malfunctioning, and the warranty has expired.

My only choice to continue to hear is a new processor. Unfortunately that’s where my problem begins. My insurance doesn’t cover anything cochlear implant related. Advanced Bionics is a company based out of California that specializes in Cochlear implants. The processor I need (Naida M90-Marvel) costs about $12,000. I work full time & will have to get a second job, but I still need help.

You guys, I love being able to hear music, laughter & just the simple things in life. But more than that, without a processor, not only is EVERYTHING completely silent, I can't hear important life saving sounds like a smoke detector, an ambulance or police car. If I have no processor, I can’t hear ANYTHING at all because I’m COMPLETELY DEAF. If I can’t hear, I could lose my job. If I lose my job, I can’t pay my bills. It will just spiral downhill from there.
