You are the Final Piece! Help bring Blessing Home
Donazione protetta
Seven years ago, we met our beautiful daughter, Blessing. I was in my home country of Liberia visiting one of the schools we sponsor children's education, and there she was walking by. Something made me call out to her. I learned that she was only 6 years old, had lost both her parents, had never been to school, did not know her ABCs, 123’s, or even how to spell her name. She was living with an aunt who had many children and others in the home, and they only ate once a day and slept on the floor in the dark, as is unfortunately the situation for many children in parts of Liberia.
After meeting Blessing, this delightful, beautiful little girl, and hearing her story, my heart ached, and I knew only one thing that day – I was going to adopt her as my own. Since January of 2018, with the help of God and my husband, Blessing is now in the 5th grade, reading, writing, praying and very articulate. She has hope in her eyes, she has joy in her spirit. She now shares a middle name with her two brothers (our biological children), and shares a birthday with my husband. After these last seven years without her physically in our home, we know it is time to bring her to her new home, where she will have new opportunities, and something she has never had before – her own room. The opportunities this move will provide Blessing - to have a household of two loving parents, meals to eat, her own place to sleep, and hope of a promising future by the grace of God - is all we desire for our amazing little girl.
The legal adoption process has been long, and financially untenable. We have spent over $10,000 and over two years trying to bring her home. We are in the final stretch, and we are asking for your prayers and financial support to bring her home to the United States. She has known us to be her “mommy and daddy” for the past 6 years, waiting to finally be with us and unite with her little brothers in Rhode Island.
In 2018 I found my purpose in how to give back to a life worth living. We are reaching out as this is our last resort, and only hope to finalize the adoption of our little girl. She is now 11 years old. Will you help bring our Blessing home?
May God honor any help you can give and thank you for your support!
