Dear Yoga Yoga Family,
First and foremost we want to thank the generosity of all donors to the YY Teacher and Staff Gratitude Fund. Because of your gifts, the campaign was able to distribute more than $27,000 to close to 50 teachers and staff who experienced great uncertainty during this summer of difficult transition.
Earlier this month, Flow Yoga announced that it has been able to secure the Anderson and Westgate locations to expand its community and has begun the formal process of welcoming both teachers and members from the former Yoga Yoga into its yogic family and practice.
As a result, this campaign is formerly closing as of the end of the day today. All contributions made since July 31st can be withdrawn if you wish. If you choose not to withdraw it, the funds will go to volunteers who “loaned” the campaign additional funds in order to help ensure an equitable distribution of support to all the teacher and staff applicants.
We hope to see you in practice very soon. Thank you again for your generous donations and your thoughtful words of encouragement and love over the last few months. Such compassion has sustained so many of us during this very challenging time.

Good Afternoon, Wonderful YY Community!
As of today, July 31st, we have begun distribution of the financial gifts from this campaign to our beloved YY Teachers & Staff. We could not have shared this gratitude without your outpouring of support and love.
All the funding raised to date via this campaign including matches from additional supporters will be distributed in this round totaling over $27,000. Teachers & Staff received support based on the information provided in their application.
We will keep this campaign open through August and, should additional donations come in, issue another round of gifts at the end of this month for any teachers and staff who chose not to apply in July in order to allow those most in need to receive greater support.

We are pleased to announce that exactly 3 weeks after we started this campaign we are in the process of receiving applications with an eye toward disbursing gifts as soon as possible following the July 29th application deadline. All the funding collected via this campaign will go to providing these financial gifts of thanks to our YY Staff and Teachers during this application round. Should additional funding come in, and we encourage you to continue to donate and share this page, we will hold a second and final round at the end of August.

To honor the yoga teachers, trainers and staff who gave so much of themselves to bring healing and growth to our community at Yoga Yoga, we have created an independent financial account to support and thank them during this time of transition.
This fund will serve as a financial mechanism to collect gifts from our community for the amazing yoga teachers, trainers and staff that have opened their hearts and touched so many lives over the years. This is a separate account from the business and no funding will go through Yoga Yoga. Funds from this campaign are intended for the teachers and staff only.
Many of us have been lifted up from the darkness and into the light because of these dedicated souls. Give so that they may receive the funds that they deserve for the time they have already given and to sustain them as their lives continue to evolve during this period of change.
Our Ask of You:
Donate any amount you can to support the teachers and staff over the next several weeks (and share with others who would also be willing and able to contribute funds to this dedicated group of individuals). We know a lot of caring and generous people. If each person positively impacted by this community donated, we would be able to help support our teacher and staff community and provide us time and breathing space to design the new chapter of our beautiful yogi family.

What You Can Expect from Us:
Funding from this campaign is separate and distinct from Yoga Yoga and will be used ONLY to provide relief to our teachers and staff affected by the current situation. Community members, Suzanne Hershey and Girish Altekar, have graciously agreed to steward the fund, and a team of teachers and community members provided guidance for the invitation to apply and protocol to receive gifts. The teachers who provided guidance (including Alice Duffy, Susan Nayak, Sirgun Kauer) do not benefit from the fund in any way in order to ensure no conflict of interest. In addition to Suzanne, Hannah Gourgey (GFM campaign manager) is also serving on the team.
Teachers and staff will be invited to apply in (very) late July and we will process these applications and distribute gifts ASAP following the application deadline.
We will continue to update you via email and social media as new developments arise in the creation of a new chapter in our community’s story. Always feel free to reach out and we will respond as quickly and accurately as we can.
