Please Consider Helping My Sister Sarah

While my sister, Sarah, was back in Maine for a short visit over Christmas, her apartment complex in Ohio had a water main freeze then burst. Unfortunately not only was management aware of the issue and left it unaddressed for over 36hrs but Sarah also wasn't notified of the situation so she could attempt to mitigate damage to some of her belongings while she was away.

The photos that we've seen are devastating. Her ceilings have collapsed in numerous places, her mattress and floors are soaked, and can only assume the majority of her stuff has been destroyed from water. My heart is broken at the thought that just shy of a year ago she left most of her life behind in Maine to start fresh in Ohio, working 3 jobs to provide for herself.

Both my sister and I have booked the next available flight to Ohio. I will be going to advocate for her and provide support over the next few days while we figure out what's next and begin to piece her life back together.

I'll know more tomorrow. In the meantime, please keep us in your thoughts and consider donating to the gofund me page. Anything helps as shell need to relocate to a hotel while this gets sorted out. In the very near future she'll need to secure a new apartment and replace everything (her bed, furniture, computer, clothing, etc).
