Donazione protetta
Meet Amazing Grace. Grace Kopasz, 19, a resident of Bolingbrook, IL has suffered from Chronic Daily Migraine Syndrome (CDMS) since age 12. CDMS affects less than 1 percent of the population, and literally debilitates its victims. What makes Grace so amazing? Although her teenage years were plagued with doctor visits, and nights alone in complete silence and darkness to cope with the pain, her kindness, attitude and faith is an inspiration to those around her.
In Graces’ own words:
“On a day to day basis it may appear on the outside that I am as healthy as everyone else. I go to work with a smile, I am sociable. I awake in pain. It has been this way for over 6 years now. Some days are better than others but every day the pain is there in my head. It is pounding, throbbing piercing or nagging, from morning until night. Going through medications and treatments not finding a cure takes a toll. These things that work for so many normal cases but just don’t seem to have success on me….I’ve been through many doubts. I’ve isolated myself from those who care. I’ve lashed out on people who love me. Because of the financial burden I feel my condition is. I’ve had frustration of feeling like I’m not on track to be the success I know I could be. I’ve had anxiety going to doctors because to me the doctor’s office has just been the place for trials that become failures. I’ve had insomnia because the pain keeps me awake. And I’ve had depression at the worst times.”
Throughout the years, Grace has endured many forms of treatments: acupuncture, Botox, headache clinics, invasive neurostimulator surgery (Texas), in the hopes of alleviating her daily pain. This week, June 22, 2015, Grace flew with her parents to Maine with high hopes that peripheral nerve decompression surgery will diminish her headaches and improve the overall quality of her life.
Grace’s family is doing everything they can to raise money to defray the cost of medical treatment and expenses. Any kind of donation will be a blessing. Thank you for your generosity and prayers for Grace. God Bless.
