Diana Bush-Halverson Caregiver Fund
Donazione protetta
Hi all! Some of you may not know our mother, Diana Bush-Halverson, is battling stage 3A bronchogenic carcinoma, more commonly referred to as 'lung cancer'. She was diagnosed in May 2015 after something suspicious came back on a chest X-ray, with no obvious symptoms of anything wrong.
While Diana and her husband Mike tried to figure out a plan of attack, her twin sister Donna Chamberlain unselfishly agreed to give up her job and everything familiar to go to Minnesota to help take care of our mother, and provide much needed support. Donna has helped with normal household needs, making dinner, taking her to and from doctors appointments at the Mayo Clinic, and now staying with her at the Hope Lodge (connected to the hospital due to mom's 5 day a week treatment). This has made it easier on Mike, so he can continue to work and keep the wonderful insurance that is keeping her going. It is also a huge relief to her 2 children who live in Pennsylvania, since they have small children and responsibilities here with them. Donna is 100% devoted to helping mom beat this nasty illness. However, in return she has lost her job and health insurance. Donna has her own health concerns and needs to have insurance in case anything arises. We were going to pay for her COBRA insurance but that is $750 a month, and too expensive. We are currently researching alternative insurance carriers with better premiums that Donna qualifies for.
So, we are asking for some help from anyone who would be gracious enough to donate toward Donna's healthcare expenses so she can continue to care for our mother.
Thank you for taking the time to care about our mother's well-being. It has been quite the journey so far for our family, and your generosity can help ensure Diana has loving care during and after her treatments.
Thank you!
