UPDATE from Lizzie & Jayden Douglas- Kayden’s Mum & Dad: Kayden’s MRI scan done on the 15th of October showed a response to the holding dose of chemotherapy given in September. The plan is to go to London UCLH and start the Proton Beam Therapy on 11th of November for 6weeks while continuing with intense physiotherapy 6wks and hopefully be home 4 days before Christmas. He will have a 6week break after the proton beam treatment and he will go back to addenbrooke’s mid February 2025 ready to start the intense chemotherapy.
Message from Tyler:
Kaydens parents, family and myself would like to thank everyone who has made a donation & supported Kayden through this time.
I am so happy Kayden has finally been able to spend some time at home, we have been having FaceTime calls, lots of chats and visits when we can, but we can’t wait to be back at school together & doing all the fun things we used to do once again.
Kayden has been so strong and has stayed as positive as possible over the last couple of months and for this alone I will always admire my best friend.
Kayden, you got this Bro, Love Tyler

Hi, I’m Tyler and I’m 11 years old. This photo is of my best friend Kayden and I. We’ve been friends since we met in reception year. We were supposed to be starting secondary school together this September. Except that hasn’t happened.
Kayden has been getting headaches for some time now. So his parents took him for numerous appointments to the doctors. On the 23rd August, Kaydens mum called my mum to say Kayden been rushed to Addenbrookes and was taken straight into theatre. It was then he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. About a week later he had to undergo a 10 hour surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible.
During the surgery he suffered from a stroke, which has left him without speech and very limited movement. Since then, we have learnt that Kayden has Pineoblastoma, a type of malignant brain tumour. Kayden will start intense chemotherapy within the next week followed by radiotherapy.
Regardless of all of this, Kayden has been having daily physiotheraphy sessions to build his strength back up and he is already making so much progress, I couldn’t be more proud of my best friend. All I wish for is for him to be happy, healthy and back where he belongs. Kayden has 4 siblings, family and friends that are supporting him all the way.
I want to try and raise as much money as I can to support Kayden on this journey as well as his family through this time. I want to be able to give Kayden the opportunity to do all the things he wants to do when he beats this. I will be with him every step of the way. We love you Kayden, you got this bro!
