JANET'S MEDICAL FUND

My friend, Janet Wagner, could use your help.

 

She has been suffering from a number of health-related issues which have impacted her abilities to hold down employment and meet all her financial needs.  Janet’s medical circumstances are such that she now lives on Social Security disability. 

 

Over the course of the last several years, medical issues occurring, include:

 
·         One surgery that has left her with ongoing GI complications;

 ·         Two emergency life-saving surgeries that have caused permanent impairment to some physical and cognitive abilities;

 ·        Diagnosed chronic illnesses that have caused her to suffer from additional permanently impaired physical and cognitive abilities, including:

 

o    Chronic kidney disease (CKD)

o    Renal sclerosis

o    Microscopic hematuria

o    Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

o    Hypothyroidism

o    Anxiety

o    Hypertension

 
·         Compromised immunity that has left her vulnerable to becoming sick more easily and more often.

 Periods of missed work from long post-surgical recoveries, along with the physical and cognitive impairments brought an end to her professional career. 

 Janet is working with medical providers now who are interested in aiding her with intensive and aggressive medical care.  It is hoped that these efforts will reduce the severity of side-effects to more manageable levels.  The goal is to improve and enhance her health to the point where she is able to work a part-time job to supplement her disability.  This will enable her to return to a financial position of self-sufficiency once again.  Self-sufficiency will enhance her ability to return to the healthier, happier, simple and independent life she desires. 

 
As Janet and her medical providers work towards improved health, she is facing some immediate needs until she is able to provide for herself, including:

 
$3.000 for much-needed medical services not covered by insurance:

Medical appointment copayments;

Prescription copayments;

Comprehensive eye exam and new glasses;

 Comprehensive dental exam, with anticipated treatment for some known problems, including cracked and broken teeth

 $10,000 to 12,000 for a reliable used car, for transportation to and from medical appointments
