For several years there has been a push for me to write a book on my experience with the human catastrophe of mass incarceration in the American South, inside and outside of the prison system, and the work of No Exceptions Prison Collective.  I’ve contributed essays to other people’s books, guest blogged for Tokens, and the Bitter Southerner, but I’ve not been able to buckle down and put the larger story on paper.  Until now.  Two weeks ago, a publisher approached me with a proposal and request for me to get to work on writing.  This project is about putting my soul into shutting down the American plantation system, restoring families, rebuilding communities, abolishing slavery, and thereby ending mass incarceration once and for all.  

To write a book I need your support.  The plan is simple. I need to raise $8,000 in one month to fund an intensive writing sabbatical for June through September.  Everything that No Exceptions does is a collaborative effort and your involvement is critical in order to get this book written.  No donation is too small.  Everyone who donates over $50 will receive a No Exceptions bumper sticker. Donations over $100 will receive a free signed copy of the book. For contributions $250 and over, I will speak at the public or private event of your choosing (caveat; with travel expenses negotiated).  All donations are tax deductible.
