George Heltz's Eagle Project

My name is George Heltz, I am a Life Scout in Troop 61 in Victor New York. I have been involved in Scouting since 1st grade. The highlight of my Scouting experience was the 2013 National Scouting Jamboree in West Virginia. The final culmination of my Boy Scout path is this Eagle Scout project. I chose to build a bridge on a Victor Hiking trail that I have used since childhood.

The bridge site is located on the Auburn trail between Brace road and East Victor Road, on  the Victor Hills Golf Course  This trail  is heavily used by runners, hikers, cyclists and walkers. Currently there is a detour onto to local roads to avoid the creek crossing. The addition of my bridge will allow all enthusiasts to avoid the road and remain on the trail. The bridge will be approximately  40 feet long and  4 feet wide with railings on both sides. The cost estimate of this project is in the range of $5000 - $6000. I'm working with the Victor Hiking Trails and Victor Hills Golf Course, Any  extra money or materials will be donated to the Victor Hiking Trails. My project is currently in the funding phase, I hope to construct the bridge in the Spring 2016.
