+++ MOTHER AND SON WITHOUT SECURE IMMIGRATION STATUS NEED TO ESCAPE DOMESTIC ABUSE +++

Mary and her son Michael are being evicted from their house, and are currently in a situation of domestic violence and abuse! Please help to prevent them becoming homeless!**

Mary and her 15-year-old son Michael live in London. Mary is very involved in her community. Her son, Michael, is currently in high school and taking his exams this year and so this situation is stressful for him.

Mary is currently being evicted by her landlord, who is also her abusive former partner and the father of her children. He has taken away her 12-year-old son, and has kept her from seeing him since December. He has not given any child-support money for their children and is now trying to force Mary to pay him instead. He is both forcing her to leave the home she has lived in for 7 years, and actively sabotaging her efforts to do so. He is psychologically abusing her by constantly breaking into the house, destroying her belongings and making a mess of her packing efforts. Mary and Michael need to move out immediately to get out of this unsafe situation.

WHAT WE ARE COLLECTING £3000.00 FOR 

Our goal is to get Mary and her son out of this highly precarious situation as quickly as possible. Mary is currently under a lot of stress, having to take care of her son while being evicted and facing abuse. To stabilise her situation whilst she gets the  support she need, we need money to pay for food and daily transport. We also need money for immigration paperwork to be sent in urgently and other necessities for her and her son.

What's more, in order to prevent them becoming homeless, Mary and her son need to find temporary accommodation immediately. We are exploring multiple avenues regarding this: Ideally, we will find a room that they could stay in for free in Haringey/Enfield (if you have any leads on a free room going, please contact us through this campaign!).  We are simultaneously trying to get space for Mary and Michael in a women’s shelter, though we have little hope for this, given how overcrowded such facilities are. The most likely outcome is that Mary and her son will have to rent a room, which in London is very expensive.

Any money you can spare will help them directly to escape this unsafe and stressful situation!
